Dawn, Mark, Sheryl, Beth and Pickles volunteered at the local fair selling ride tickets on August 26-28.
Community Involvement
Our Balloons Over Rockbridge Board of Directors like to stay active throughout the year assisting with various community activities and events.
2021
In May, Dee and Beth volunteered at the "Rock the Bricks" event sponsored by Main Street Lexington. There were lots of great bird houses in the silent auction decorated by local artists.
In September, Beth and Sheryl represted Balloons Over Rockbridge by volunteering as beer servers at the Rockbridge Beer and Wine Festival. It was a beautiful day with lots of great food and music as well.
2020
While the year was full of obstacles, we were still able to participate in a couple of community events during December.
Rockbridge Christmas Basket Program
Several members of the Board of Balloons Over Rockbridge bundled up to build and pack boxes for the Rockbridge Christmas Basket Program. Due to Covid, this process has been spread over many many days to ensure that hundreds of us aren't working together as we have in the past. It was great to be able to gather in a safe way to help others in our communtiy this Christmas.
5th Annual Festival of Trees
Once again, with the help of our community, BOR was able to collect the most donations at the 5th Annual Festival of Trees at Natural Bridge State Park. Donations collected this year were for Project Horizon, an organization that provides services for victims of domestic and sexual violence
2019
Festival of Trees
Balloons Over Rockbridge participated in the 4th Annual Festival of Trees at Natural Bridge State Park during the month of December. Area residents were to vote on their favorite trees by placing donated items under them. The items were collected for students in need at Rockbridge County Public Schools and included gloves, hats, mittens, scarves, underclothes, shoes and school supplies. Thanks to all those who placed donations under our tree helping us win first place!

Thank you to everyone who helped raise funds to purhcase Calypso in the Horsemania Auction for Blue Ridge CASA for Children! She is now a permanent part of the Balloons Over Rockbridge Family!
We enjoyed helping on packing day with the Rockbridge Christmas Basket Program. The mission of Rockbridge Christmas Baskets is to share the joy of the holiday season by providing food and toys to as many households-in-need as possible in Rockbridge County and the cities of Lexington and Buena Vista, Virginia.
The Balloons Over Rockbridge float won the MOST ORIGINAL entry in the Buena Vista Christmas Parade.
This is our Balloons Over Rockbridge entry for the Natural Bridge State Park Festival of Trees! Visit the Park Visitors Center November 23 - January 1 to see all the trees. The public can vote by placing donations for the Rockbridge SPCA under your favorite tree. Come out to show your support for Balloons Over Rockbridge and the Rockbridge SPCA!
